Despite becoming one of the world leading tourist destinations, Dubai maintains adheres to a strict set of rules regarding dress code, behaviour and conduct.
Although Dubai has a multicultural society with diverse cultures ranging from Indians to Pakistanis majority of the state is of Iranians and thus follows an Islamic running such as alcohol only being sold to those with an alcohol permit, and pork sold to only non-Muslims.
Due to the popular religious view other values are connected and followed relating to dress, behaviour and general conduct as shown below:
Dress Code
The native residents of Dubai adhere to the traditional Islamic dress code of Hajib and if preferred the Burka (veil). Tourists are expected to dress modestly as they can do blend in and not draw attention to themselves. Women are generally preferred to wear clothing past the elbow and knees, and to stay clear of anything tight, although bikinis are acceptable, yet only on the beach.
Men too must respect the culture of Dubai and not dress revealingly, such as roaming topless. Dressing to suit the occasion is a general rule i.e. if on a formal trip then a suit is ideal etc.

Behaviour
As a general rule when travelling to any country is to respect the rules and culture, and Dubai is no exception. Excessive Noise and public displays of affection are not acceptable as local residents tend to keep that behaviour indoors. Taking pictures of people without their consent is also banned, so be sure to be papping with permission.

Alcohol
Alcohol is sold to only non-Muslims who hold an alcohol permit, and is drank indoors or private places such as bars or restaurants. Hotels that hold four or more starts are allowed to sell alcohol. Generally being seen drunk in public is frowned upon and could land you in trouble.
